About North Sydney

The first permanent settlement on the north side of Sydney Harbour took place in 1785. With the opening of Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932, North Sydney was linked to Sydney CBD and it flourished boasting Australia's first post-war skyscraper in 1956 (MLC Building) and home to historic Luna Park. Today, North Sydney is made up of suburbs such as McMahons Point, Lavender Bay, Milson's Point, Kirribilli, Neutral Bay, Cremorne, Neutral Bay and Crows Nest enjoying the character imparted by a rich history. As well there are the conveniences of a busy downtown commercial district, high-rise apartments, shopping centres, parks, banks, schools, service and railway stations, and many fine restaurants.
