About
Rehovot
Famous for it's long standing orange groves surrounding the city, the town had already become the country's largest exporter of citrus fruits in the 1920's.
In 1934, Prof. Haim Weizmann, the first president of the State of Israel, resided in the city and established the Ziv Institute for Scientific Research, world-famous today as The Weizmann Institute for Science.
For a relatively small city, it draws an impressive amount of academic institutions, a university hospital, agriculture research institutes and many Hi-tech companies.
Recent years have seen a construction boom of commercial and residential usages in the vacant areas of the city, setting the city with a promising view into the future.
Rehovot lies some 20 km south to Tel Aviv in the central part of Israel.
