Features and Amenities
One of the city's famous buildings
Facts
This giant hotel is built around an enormous atrium which is by many reports the world's largest.
The atrium rises the full height of the building from the basement to the roof, and consists of two vertical chambers divided by a central elevator core and several bridges.
The bridges between the elevators and the perimeter hallways are stacked in groups crossing in different directions at different floors.
The best views of the atrium are from the bottom level, the 10th floor, and especially the 25th floor where the bridges are the highest in their stacks and allow unobstructed views up and down.
The building's exterior is a brutalist concrete grid, with massive bulges on the north and south sides.
With 1,674 rooms, this is the largest convention hotel in the Southeast. It includes five restaurants, four lounges, a health club and an executive conference center.
Originally exposed concrete, the facade was painted white in 2004.
This building boasted the world's largest atrium until the Burj Al-Arab was completed in Dubai.
There are 48 meeting rooms, 5 restaurants and 4 lounges in this building.
This building is nicknamed the "pregnant building".
In 2008, 40,000 square feet of additional meeting space was added.
