Facts
Elysian Hotel will incorporate residential units that can be added into the list of hotel suites available when residents are out of town.
The building will have two residential units per floor, with 10 to 12 foot ceilings and private terraces.
The tower will incorporate a tuned liquid damper at the top to counteract the effects of wind on the slender structure.
The building was approved by the city council on Monday June 13, 2005.
The plans for this project have changed a few times: originally designed for 153 units in a 502' building, it was later doubled in size with a height increase to 770' before a final reduction.
In 1972 the 14-story Restaurant Building was proposed on this site, with a separate restaurant planned for each floor.
