Facts
The Krise Building was one of Lynchburg's earliest skyscrapers and was the tallest in the city when built.
The facade features an arched and rusticated base, a five-story shaft, and a top story with quoined windows separated by ornated cartouches.
The roof is defined by a deep cornices with doubled brackets and modillions.
This is a contributing structure as part of the Courthouse Hill/Downtown Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Named after Philip Asa Krise, the Lynchburg businessman responsible for its construction at the turn of the 20th Century.
