Over the nights between February 3rd to February 15th, 2003, a pedestrian bridge was installed, connecting this building and the Azrieli Center=Azrieli Towers Mall]. The bridge was designed by the same architects of Matcal Tower.
A rooftop helipad is the most recognizable visual element of the tower, similar to Arison Medical Tower.
Fourth tower in Israel with a rooftop helipad. The fifth is situated only dozens of meters away; HaYovel Tower.
Every floor is divided into 50 offices with the most sought after were those facing the sea on the upper west wing.
3 additional floors were added in 2000 to the original 14-storey plan.
There are 1286 offices in the building and 2400 doors.
Matcal Tower replaced the old 8-storey IDF command building, called Building-22; constructed in 1954.
The facade is made of glass, granite and aluminum panels.
Upon completion, a connection between Kaplan underpath and the tower's underground carpark will be ready to use.
The connecting oval core is reinforced to withstand high impact collisions of all kinds.
The project was constructed with 1.5 million shekels (US$400 million), the IDF received for vacating the Southern Kirya quarter.
