Facts
Al Faisaliyah Center was the tallest building in Saudi Arabia until Kingdom Centre was topped out in 2001.
The tower is aligned in a direct axis with the Kingdom Centre, halfway between Olaya Street and King Fahd Road.
The eastern half of the base is enclosed as part of the lobby, and the western half is open.
The 4 corner beams are connected at 4 levels by exposed A-bracing. On the upper levels there are galleries around the bracing structure.
On top of the building (below the spire) there is an outdoor observation platform and a golden glass sphere containing a 3-level restaurant.
The height figures are measured from ground level, and include an 8.3 meter platform below the main entrance.
Completed on May 14th 2000.
The central elevator and stairway core of the building is octagonal.
The tower is connected to a major shopping mall and a luxury hotel.
Profits from the tower's functions, including the hotel, go to the charitable Al Faisaliyah Foundation.
