Facts
The building's height caused controversy at the time of its planning. Critics believed it would compete with revered Princeton lankmarks such as Nassau Hall.
Fine Hall is the home of the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Statistics.
It was dedicated in 1970 in memory of Henry Burchard Fine, who played a key role in developing the mathematics faculty at Princeton.
The design won an Award of Merit in the Architectural Design Award Program in 1966.
