The William R. Snodgrass Tennessee Tower Building was originally the National Life Center, home of National Life and Accident Insurance Company.
The building became the headquarters of American General Life and Accident Insurance Company, which sold it to the State of Tennessee on January 3, 1994.
The building now houses over 1000 state employees who were previously located in several scattered locations.
The exterior is clad with travertine and glass.
Tallest building in Tennessee from 1970 until 1986, when it was surpassed by the Fifth Third Center.
