Facts
The Renaissance Cleveland Hotel's site, on Public Square's Southwest quadrant, has been a place of lodging in Cleveland since 1815.
The Renaissance's predecessors: Phinney Mowrey's Tavern 1815-1820, original Cleveland House 1820-1832, 3-storey Cleveland House 1832-1845, Dunham House 1845-1852, and Forest City House 1852-1915.
The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 as part of the Union Terminal Group.
