Features and Amenities
One of the city's famous buildings
Facts
The tower will be surpassed by Torre de la Escollera as Colombia's tallest building.
The public observatory on the 52nd floor is the highest in the city.
The tower has 15 elevators which travel at 5 meters per second.
3000 tons of steel and 6000 cubic meters of concrete were used in the tower's construction.
Top of the tower is nearly 9160 feet (2792 m) above sea level.
At the time of completion, this was the tallest building in Latin America, until the construction of Parque Central Torre Este in Caracas, Venezuela.
The tower was illuminated externally for the first time on August 6, 1998 while celebrating the birthday of Bogotá.
During December the lights on the top have the colors of the Colombian flag.
