Facts
Overlooks the Chicago Federal Center to the east. The building is directly across the street from Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's one-story post office.
The top of the building is capped with a very high communications antenna.
Original plans called for a far more elaborate neo-Gothic design, with heavy ornament at the top and along the tops of the two arms flanking the light court.
This is the tallest building in Chicago with continuous brick cladding. ( 1000 Lake Shore Plaza is taller but uses brick infill between concrete framing elements.).
