Society Center was one of several large projects proposed for Hartford in late 1980's.
The design is similar to Pelli's contemporaneous Key Tower, realized in Cleveland between 1988-1991.
It would have stood on the site of the demolished Hartford-Aetna National Bank Building, which is also the site of the proposed Renaissance Place.
