The transparent cubic hall ensures a maximum of useable space as its permitted volume can be filled with buildings according to need; with its winter garden-effect it serves as a climate buffer; and it puts the ensemble on the same footing as the individual office blocks which are characteristic of the neighbouring buildings.
The interior of this cube accommodates four buildings leant on the outer glass wall, which can be used separately and developed in very different ways. Thus an exciting internal structure arises which lends the whole ensemble a light and transparent charm.
Herriot's consists of four wings with heights between 45m (148ft) and 72m (236ft), which are built around a 52m (171ft) tall entrance hall.
